"Go to new heights, don’t be afraid to try new things, and trust yourself.  And may the force be with you!"

Hometown:  Recently moved to Outer Banks, NC.  Formerly, Cochranville, PA.

Age:  21

When did you first start training at CFKSQ?  February 2019

Favorite WOD:  I have fun with workouts that I can do jumping bar muscle ups

Least Favorite WOD:  Anything with overhead squats

Tell us about your sports & fitness background:  I played baseball until I was 12 years old then in high school I ran cross country (track freshman year only – didn’t like track very much).

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel?  My parents had been doing CrossFit for years and we had a gym in our basement.  I don’t remember my first WOD but I do remember doing fundamentals with Lauren.

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF (before/after)?  Right before I started I suffered a severe broken arm thanks to my sister driving erratically in a golf cart.  It has been hard to get my mobility back in that arm ever since, but CrossFit has absolutely helped me become stronger, more confident and a better person.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected? CFKSQ is a special place.  All of the coaches have been so supportive of me, treated me like family and I have made so many new friends.  It’s my favorite hour of the day attending class.

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFKSQ moments:  There are so many moments.  Participating in Suns Out Guns Out with Leslie Benson, volunteering at the Barbell Brawl, attending the holiday party, and giving holiday cards to all the coaches are some of the memories that come to mind.

Any advice for people just getting started?  Go to new heights, don’t be afraid to try new things, and trust yourself.  And may the force be with you!

What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit? I love all Philadelphia sports teams.  I love playing golf with my family members.  I am very active in the Catholic Church and enjoy learning about American History.  I will become an avid beach bum now that I live in OBX!
