Tell us about your sports & fitness background:
I played college softball, and have coached the game at every level, including college. Growing up, I played soccer, basketball, and softball all through high school; I opted to play softball in college. To say I am obsessed with sports is an understatement. Anyone who knows me, knows I love ALL sports and will watch any! I have always been active and hope to continue to be.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD…what was it, and how did it feel?
About 7/8 years ago, I went to one of my first CrossFit classes at a box in my hometown. I loved the community, the challenging workouts, and the overall progress I was seeing. I never thought I’d find a place quite like it. Fast forward two years ago, with a 5-year hiatus from CrossFit, I found CFKSQ– an incredible community, challenging workouts both physically and mentally, and progress I
could have never imagined. CFKSQ is my home away from home and has been the best sport/fitness experience I could ever ask for.

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF (before/after)?
The best word to describe the changes I have seen is limitless. My body, health and fitness have proven to be limitless in progress. Every day I see a difference whether that’s in my appearance or physical strength. I know with each day comes growth and that is a huge change for the positive, thanks to CFKSQ.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?
When the pandemic restrictions uplifted, my fiancée and I joined CrossFit together. This has not only changed our lives as individuals, but also as a couple. I said this earlier, but CFKSQ is like a home away from home, and everyone from the coaches to its’ members have impacted mine and Jordan’s like in a way we never expected.

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFKSQ moments:
With the open coming up, I can’t help but think back to my first “Friday Night Lights”. It was one of the greatest showings of community I had ever seen. Even people who weren’t competing showed up in support of their fellow athletes. I remember every workout challenging me, and I remember the sense of meaningful
support I felt that night. Can’t wait for this year’s turnout!

Any advice for people just getting started?
Don’t look down! Whether you’re lifting a barbell off the floor or disappointed in your performance for today’s workout, keep your eyes up. There are going to be challenging workouts, with movements you hate, after a terribly long day, but that shouldn’t stop you from showing up and doing something for YOU. At the end, there is never any regret, just amazing people with great progress for you! You’ve got this.

What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit?
I am a certified sous chef so naturally I love to cook (yes lucky Jordan). I love to play softball or go to any professional baseball game.
