Least Favorite WOD: Whatever has Thrusters in it.
Tell us about your sports & fitness background: As a kid, I was always playing soccer and basketball with friends for fun, though I never played for a team. My older brother started to drag me to the gym with him when I was a freshman in high school.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel? The first time CrossFit caught my attention was after watching one of the “Games” documentaries on Netflix. My first WOD was “Surrender,” 3 RFT of 400m run, 15 OHS and 10 T2B. I was worried about the OHS.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF (before/after)? The biggest difference that CF has made is that my endurance/stamina has improved and my mobility has increased drastically.
What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected? Before CFKSQ I would never go on runs for fun, nor would I ever work out before 3 p.m. I also never expected to gain such a wide variety of friends and build such a close relationship with them.
Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFKSQ moments: My favorite moment was when I doubled my squat snatch PR during a workout. (Thank you Lauren and Laurie!)
Any advice for people just getting started? Stretch, stretch and stretch! Both before and after a workout.
What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit? Outside of the box I like to spend my free time wrenching on my car.
