Age: 51 (Turning 52 on October 13!)

When did you first start training at CFKSQ: Sept 2019

Favorite WOD: Partner Triple 3s

Least Favorite WOD: Anything with the bike. The bike and I do not get along.

Tell us about your sports & fitness background:

I played a lot of different sports growing up and then focused on field hockey and lacrosse in high school & college. Running became my daily exercise after college until I started CrossFit.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD…what was it, and how did it feel?

When my kids played little league, parents were talking about the results

people were seeing after just a couple months of doing Crossfit. I do not know the name of my first WOD, but it was a 3pm class where there were two of us in the class for a partner workout. I was beyond worried

about dragging down my partner’s workout, but it was fun!

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CrossFit (before/after)?

Before starting CrossFit I had very little arm strength while now I have much greater ability to do at home lifting tasks. Plus, my confidence with the workouts has improved even though I ask

a lot of questions to the coaches every day.

What sort of changes in your life have your experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?

I was so out of my element when I first started that I would only participate in small classes because I knew I needed lots of support from the coaches. Eventually, work forced me to attend the early morning classes and I can’t believe the amazing friendships I’ve made since then! I always feel an incredible amount of support from others to finish even when it feels impossible, and now I have the confidence to challenge myself, which has allowed me to improve and continue to make new PRs. It’s all been so amazing and unexpected!

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit/CFSKQ moments:

The poor coaches trying to coach the class when there is too much socialization going on.

Any advice for people just getting started?

What are your hobbies, interest and/or talents outside of CrossFit?

My happy place is on the beach with a book. I am lucky my mom lives in Ocean City, NJ where I get to the beach often. I am a house enthusiast where I want a warm and finished house where I spend my time painting rooms, organizing décor or simply organizing. Plus, time with my family is other my happy place.
