The holiday season is a stressful time for many of us. And for a family living on the margins because of the pandemic, this year will be even more stressful. Our local food banks – like Kennett Area Community Services – step in to help families when they need it most.
Last week, KACS reached out to the CFKSQ community for help. As they prepare their holiday food baskets, they’re coming up short on condensed milk. KACS asked if we – our CFKSQ community – could step up and provide the 250 cans of sweetened condensed milk* they need to help provide holiday meals for families in our community.
Will you commit to bringing in a couple of 14 oz cans of condensed milk by Friday, November 13? A can of condensed milk costs less than a cup of coffee at Starbucks, and for a family struggling to make ends meet, a can of condensed milk in their holiday meal basket means a dessert to savor and remember.
By the way, cans of condensed milk stack a whole lot better than that Starbucks coffee. So let’s have a little CFKSQ fun with this project and see how big of a condensed milk pyramid we can build.
*sweetened condensed milk is preferred!
